December 11, 2003 Pembroke Pines, FL. - (December 11, 2003) - With the holidays just around the corner, The FCCA is busy with preparations for the 8th annual Holiday Gift Project. Approximately 5,000 under privileged children will be treated to a day of celebration and gifts this year in 23 destinations throughout the Caribbean and Mexico. In this fast paced world we live in, it is easy to forget about the true meaning of giving. The Holiday Gift Project is a way for us to reflect on the ¡§reason for the season.¡¨ It is a time for giving and what better way to experience the joy of the season than through the eyes of a child. It is not only the children that are looking forward to this event, crew members from FCCA Member Lines are anxiously waiting for their turn to participate in this heart felt occasion. Some will arrive donned as Santa Claus and his elves, along with Mickey Mouse and his friends from Disney Cruise Line. In its tenth year, the Foundation for the Caribbean continues to improve the lives of Caribbean citizens through projects such as this. The Foundation has impacted the lives of thousands providing over $ 2 million in funding to a number of organizations and causes. Throughout the month of December, the following destinations and Cruise Lines will participate in the Holiday Gifts Project.
