ports Another Successful Cruise Ship
Industry Meeting with Cayman Islands
Chamber of Commerce

The Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) and senior management from the Member Lines recently held a meeting with the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce.

The Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce invited the FCCA to participate in a recent meeting on Thursday, July 19th at the Marriott Grand Cayman Beach Resort.  The meeting assembled local business leaders from the Chamber of Commerce, Honorable W. McKeeva Bush, Minister of Tourism and FCCA delegates composed of Michele M. Paige, President of the FCCA, Michael Ronan, Associate Vice President-Destination Development, Royal Caribbean International, the Operations Committee Chairman, and Gordon Buck, Director-Port Operations, Carnival Cruise Lines who discussed a partnership between the Cayman Islands business community and the cruise lines to insure the Cayman Islands is poised for the cruise industry of the present and future in order to seize the benefits cruise tourism brings.

The meeting is designed to be the first in a series of meetings with the FCCA so that a plan of action can be implemented that best suits the needs of local businesses and satisfies the long term plans of the cruise lines.

"The Cayman Islands is very important to the cruise industry and the business community.  The July 19th meeting underlines that the cruise industry is important to the economy of the Cayman Islands, therefore it is imperative that a close working relationship be of prime importance to both parties," state Michele M. Paige, President of the FCCA.

To bring conclusion to a very successful meeting a special luncheon was held aboard Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas for the FCCA delegates.
