FCCA and Dominica Team up
for "Keep Your Town Clean" Campaign

May 15, 2001

The Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association enlisted the assistance of Carnival Cruise Lines to fulfil the request of much needed janitorial supplies for the Portsmouth Town Council of Dominica.

In conjunction with their clean up campaign, "Keep the Town Clean" Dominica tapped assistance from the FCCA's Foundation.

The FCCA donated work gloves, dust masks, rubber boots, plastic hats, garbage bags, shovels, rakes and a grass trimmer.  The supplies were loaded on Carnival Cruise Line’s M/S Fascination for delivery in Dominica on the morning of April 3, 2000.

The Hotel Director, Stefan Christoffersson, of Carnival's Fascination gave a short speech during the handing over ceremony noting: "It was a pleasure to meet the distinguished guests from Dominica, including the Mayor of Portsmouth whom extended his gratitude to the FCCA Foundation and Carnival Cruise Lines. This occasion gave us the opportunity to give thanks and gratitude to the people of Dominica for providing our guests such a positive experience.  Moreover, with these gifts, it will pay tenfold in the warmth of the Dominican people and allow the tools to continue to enhance this beautiful island for all our guests and crew to enjoy."

Following the ceremony, members of the Town Council were treated to a ship tour and a special ship luncheon.
